How do I repair my hard drive?

There seems to be one error a few GB in on my Toshiba hard drive. Isn’t there software that can disable the bad sectors and allow the rest of the drive to be used?

Toshiba doesn’t make any software available for their drives, and software from some of the other big drive manufacturers doesn’t work on their competitors’ drives it seems.

One idea is to partition the drive and avoid the bad partition.

What operating system do you have. Try running chkdsk. It will search and repair bad sectors. Links to instructions for Windows are below.
