It’s not cricket that u should have bat and ball, and you can play. You must do a course to learn about PCs.
You will need an ohmeter to check power connections and certain key power connections from the mother board to periperals, a mix of different micro screw drivers, an EM/ESD safe work bench with ESD bracelet, extra ESD packages, a few A+ cert books to do research from, spare parts, it would be good also to download all the manuals for various mother boards designs, disks with diagnotsic tools from various manufacturers, and of course spare parts ranging from ribbon cables to extra screws, maybe a circuit board extractor tool. They may even make ESD gloves that sound like they might be a good thing to have. Also, depending on how in depth you are gonna get a soldering iron kit would be good.
agile’s answer below apears to be the most accurate answer, but he did forget the ESD bracelet and ESD bench, its unussual but a static discharge could happen and you want to limit that chance when working with $200.00+ circuit boards
