Help Please How do I delete photos before taking Laptop to repair?
I need help please
I need to remove all the photos from my laptop before the guy repairs it, I had surgery and there are many private photos there.
my husband opened the laptop and removed the memory card from it, it contained 2 separate ones, I am just wondering without those can the repair guy still be able to view my pictures?
please let me know my laptop is dead so i cant manually erase them.

Without the memory cards the computer won’t run, so it can’t be repaired. The first thing the repair person will do is either ask you for them, or put new ones in and charge you for them. (Nothing gets stored on them. Things get stored on your hard drive.)
Delete the files themselves. (Click the file. Hold the Shift key down while you press the Delete key. You should be asked if you want to delete the file, NOT if you want to send the file to the Recycle Bin.) Say yes. When you’ve deleted all the files you want deleted, download and run Eraser http://sourceforge.net/projects/eraser/ Deleted files can be undeleted. Eraser turns them into blank files, so even if they’re undeleted, it’s like taking the ink off a types page — there’s nothing on them.)
I’d back the pictures up to a CD or DVD first, if you want to keep them and don’t have other copies.
1. The best way to put a new HD (borrow for 2 weeks from anywhere) in Laptop before sending for repair.
2. After repair use Acronis True Image Home 2010, and make a image copy of the repaired Laptop.
3. Replace the HD with the one one and restore the image using Acronics.
